2011 Mideast District Conference
Cincinnati, OH

About the Talk: When it comes to product development, most companies choose which product concepts to pursue based on the ones people like the best. Well, guess which ones people tend to like the best. Duh! They like the concepts that are most like the ones already on the market … and that’s the concept that gets funded … and the perpetuation of “me-too” products continues … and manufacturers continue to fight a price war … and Wal-Mart continues to demand lower prices … and you move your manufacturing offshore … and you lose sight of who you are … and your brand gets watered down. But there is hope! In this talk, Curt Bailey, IDSA lays out a method for developing truly special products.
