2011 IDSA International Conference
New Orleans, LA
09.16.11
About the Talk: Quirky has helped change how people can think about product design and development by providing a platform for people from all disciplines to execute their ideas and bring them to life. How does it work? How does the company maintain a seemingly absurd release schedule while facilitating the production of a reality TV show? And what lessons could its model offer all designers? In this talk, Ben Kaufman explains and inspires.
About the Speaker: Ben Kaufman, CEO and co-founder of Quirky, began his entrepreneurial journey during his senior year of high school by founding an iPod accessory company called mophie. The rapid growth of the mophie brand led to its acquisition in August 2007. After two years of research and development on a unique technology platform, he publicly launched Quirky in June 2009. In 2007, Inc. magazine named him the top entrepreneur in the country under the age of 30. He was 20 at the time.
