David Butler
David Butler, Vice President, Global Design, The Coca-Cola Company
David Butler is responsible for leading global design vision and strategy for The Coca-Cola Company. Since 2004, he has led design thinking for some of the world’s most loved and valuable brands including Coca-Cola.
Coca-Cola has been recognized with numerous design awards from around the world, including the prestigious Grand Prix from the Cannes Lions International Advertising Festival. In 2009, David was recognized by Fast Company as a “Master of Design,” building on the Company’s 100-year legacy as a leader in leveraging the power of design to drive innovation and sustainable growth for its business.
He began his career designing large-scale brand identity systems and then focused on digital media with the rise and fall of the dot-com era. He went on to build a global design planning group with Studio Archetype/Sapient. His experience includes numerous global brands including the International Olympic Committee, UPS, Gucci, CNN, Cartoon Network, Bank of America, Catepillar, Delta and AT+T.
David is a frequent lecturer and a strong advocate for design education. He holds a Bachelor of Arts from the University of South Florida.
