Chris' involvement with IDSA over the past several years has opened many doors for him and has given him the unique opportunity to network with other members of his profession.

He said he believes that his growth as a designer is owed in part to those connections as well as his involvement in various events and conferences. Parke says IDSA has helped him so much that he would like to give back to the industrial design community.  He said he would like to assist IDSA members by providing useful design content as well as getting members out there mingling with each other.  His ideal goal would be to cross the barriers in design and have it be one big design community—not just an industrial design community.

As chapter chair for the past three and a half years and a seasoned volunteer, he joined the IDSA Board understanding the importance of the Southern District VP position and the time and energy required to get the job done effectively.

He would like to bring real value to the industrial design community so that the question members ask is "What doesn't IDSA do for me?"
