The Tesla Roadster

The Tesla Roadster is a high-performance, electric-powered sports car that hopes to radically change public perception about what an electric vehicle could be. It produces zero emissions and has a 250 mile range on a single charge and can accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in 4.0 seconds. While styling was of paramount importance, with an emphasis on performance and timeless beauty, avoiding any association with the legacy of odd-looking electric vehicles was an imperative.

Ship of Ideas - Frankfurt Museum Bank Festival 2003

Client: Tourismus + Congress GmbH Frankfurt am Main, Germany

The most innovative image at the Frankfurt Museum Bank Festival was this floating media and light sculpture-a pontoon carrying a cuboid of screens and LEDs lit by light and media projections. With only a small budget plus inspiration, the designers achieved their goal of increasing public awareness of the city's urban museums. Local and national press published the breathtaking images of the Ship of Ideas projecting video sequences of the 16 museums along the Main riverbank.

Gourmet Settings at Costco

The design strategy for this new line of flatware helped the manufacturer increase its market share in an industry dominated by price-driven competitors. Since little advertising budget was available, the design of the product, packaging and display became the marketing. Optimizing logistics—such as configuring the packaging to maximize the capacity of shipping containers and a self-merchandising strategy that animates the product in high-volume, warehouse retail settings—also helped achieve product differentiation and cost containment.

Kohler Purist Hatbox Toilet

In the Purist Hatbox Toilet the conventional cues of the traditional toilet are removed. This minimalist-inspired toilet offers a clean aesthetic both visually and physically. Its innovative tankless design helps achieve its streamlined footprint, freeing designers to place the Purist where toilets have never been placed before. Its electic powerlite pump platform in a tank in the foot of the toilet pushes water upwards and creates a very powerful flush, eliminating the need for second flushes or worries about plugging.

Mission: SPACE

"What does it feel like to be an astronaut?" is answered through the incredibly realistic design of this project, which immerses visitors to Epcot Center® in the story of a rocket launch and space flight. Mission: Space is a compelling and memorable experience because the designers at Disney were involved in every phase of the project, including concept and development, technical aspects and human factors. They worked closely with the architects and headed up the graphics and signage.
