Ravi will discuss his people-centered approach, the benefit of incorporating empathy in every design project, and how these enable him to deliver relevant solutions to modern challenges.

Human Factors Engineering focuses on optimizing the usability of a variety of products while creating a compelling user experience. But in the design of medical devices, the principle goal must always be to ensure the safety of the patient. Steven Vargas, speaks on the challenge of bringing together the lessons of cutting-edge consumer product design while minimizing the risk of use-errors that could harm the patient.

Please join us Oct. 24th 7PM for a lecture by MIchael McCoy, "Bringing Form to Light: Designing With a New Lighting Technology". Michael will discuss his current projects including the development of his new Humanscale Horizon Light which has won 20 international awards and is in the design collections of the Museum of Modern Art, The Smithsonian's  Cooper Hewitt National Design Museum, the Denver Art Museum and the Kirkland Museum.
