IDSA St. Louis was recently invited to participate in the annual Design Days event hosted by Southern Illinois University Carbondale. This event brings together alumni, students, and design professionals for a weekend of dialog all about design. This year, Tony Schmidt, Jason Mills, and Joy Christensen represented the chapter at the portfolio reviews on Saturday April 12th, 2014. These reviews typically close the Design Days event and offer students a chance to showcase their work, refine interviewing skills, and make professional contacts.
This graphic design class at Webster University invited the officers of the St. Louis chapter to visit on the evening of April 9th to talk about their most recent work. Getting to work with the students at the concepting stage of their latest project generated conversations on targeting a specific user controlling user experience. Everyone in the chapter was happy to have the chance to work one-on-one with these students and looks forward to visiting again to see how the work develops.
