IDSA welcomes IDEA® winners and finalists to indicate the fact of their winning entry with one of the winner designations, as appropriate. IDEA Award Winners and Finalists may replicate the IDEA winner logo on packaging, advertising and merchandising materials. Follow the example set by Fiskars, OXO Good Grips, IBM, Canon, Ford, Samsung and a legion of design firms, all of which have promoted the fact that their designs are IDEA winners.
The IDEA® (International Design Excellence Awards) program is the premier international competition honoring design excellence in products, ecodesign, interaction design, packaging, strategy, research and concepts. Entries are invited from designers, students and companies worldwide.
Designs for practically anything may be entered. If your entry doesn't fit into the category you have selected it will be recategorized. Students must enter in the Student category. Unless otherwise indicated, entrants should use the general entry form.
2010 marks the 30th year of the IDSA IDEA Awards. Happy birthday IDEA! For the past 30 years IDSA and its IDEA Awards have been promoting the value of Design to business and in no small part because of this effort, the business world is now well aware of what design can do.
IDEA Award winners receive significant international publicity and exposure. In contrast to many other design awards, most of the associated perks of winning an IDEA Award are free. In addition to Fast Company's announcement of the winners, hundreds of print and online media networks pick up the IDEA story each year. In addition, IDSA's annual Yearbook of Industrial Design Excellence, featuring in-depth coverage of the Gold winners and a complete listing of all honorees, is distributed internationally to business executives, business schools, federal officials and designers.
