Existing radiation treatments for prostate cancer can damage healthy tissue. Calypso, a medical start-up, had a revolutionary idea. By injecting a transponder into cancerous tissue, radiation could be better targeted at the tumor, sparing healthy tissue. However, Calypso’s innovative technology needed to be packaged into a product and a procedure that oncologists would accept as a viable alternative to existing methods.

The Cintiq 24HD digitizing tablets for graphics professionals allows users to draw directly on the screen with a customizable in-bezel interface that can be navigated by touch alone. The display floats on a spring-loaded dual-hinged frame, allowing quick manipulation into dozens of different orientations to maximize flexibility and optimize ergonomics during long work sessions.

The JumpSeat is a low-profile folding auditorium seat designed as an elegant, modern alternative to the typical movie theater or stadium seat. Through its innovative design and use of materials, it is able to support up to 600 pounds when opened, yet folds up to a thickness of only 3.5 inches, leaving auditorium walkways open for easy access.

Object Stories is an exhibition at the Portland Art Museum that invites visitors to bring objects of personal significance and tell the stories behind them. It combines elements of an exhibition space, recording studio, photo booth and library to encourage browsing and participation.

Ziba worked as the Conference Chair's for the Portland conference and the work that they did has become the subject of an AIGA case study.

By all accounts the conference was a success and this of course includes the design elements of it as has been proven witht he selection of the case by the AIGA.

The Bamboo line of pen and touch tablets is Wacom’s first consumer-oriented line. Identifying design targets and discovering how their needs differ from professional users, the designers were able to expand the Bamboo line to be both broader and more coherent. A consistent aesthetic and interaction experience distinguishes each product and sets them apart from Wacom’s existing identity.

The TDK Life on Record 2011 Audio Line combines the TDK Sound Cube, TDK Two Speaker Boombox, TDK Three Speaker Boombox and TDKs USB Belt Drive Turntable to create a rich and highly visual connection between the listener and their music. This new line of premium audio equipment from TDK Life on Record blends the warmth of analog with the precision and convenience of digital technology bring music to life. Generous controls and fine tuning features enable listeners to customize their listening experience through iPhone, iPod, hard drives, turntables and electric guitars.

In the process of designing youth-oriented footwear and apparel, Li-Ning found that not only was it failing to offer a product and retail experience that resonates with Chinese youth, but so was the competition. This presented Li-Ning with a unique opportunity to develop an understanding of China’s emerging youth market. The subsequent research effort created the foundation for all later design work on Li-Ning’s product strategy, brand identity and retail design.
