The University of the Arts IDSA will host their annual department portfolio review on Tuesday, April 10th, 6:00pm-9:00pm. We invite local professionals from the design community to come review student portfolios, discuss jobs, internships, work experience, and provide interview tips. If you are interested in taking part and would like to be on the review panel, please contact Beth Van Why at bvanwhy@uarts.edu

Please join The University of the Arts Industrial Design class of 2008 for, “Aging With Design,” an exhibition of senior thesis work. This collection focuses on the need for design to change with the aging population.

Exhibition Opening: Wednesday, May 21st, 7-10pm
Exhibition Hours: May 24-30, 12-3 pm and May 31, 12-9 pm.

Please join the University of the Arts Industrial Design program welcoming back Daniel Joseph (UArts ID graduate 2006) as he speaks about his experience as a Special Effects Designer Associate and Creative Research “Imagineer” for the Walt Disney Corporation.

“ImagiNations gave me the opportunity to design something purely out of passion, and have it recognized and critiqued by the most talented people in the industry. Working as an Imagineer gives me that same feeling I got when I visited Walt Disney World when I was in Kindergarten.” - Daniel Joseph

The Industrial Design Department at The University of the Arts will host a three day charrette to develop proposals and future scenarios for a wireless Philadelphia. The 75 undergraduate and graduate students and their faculty will work with leaders from local business and government who are actively changing the way Philadelphians live, creating new models for life in the city.

Congratulations to Liana Kalushner, ID Senior at The University of the Arts in Philadelphia for winning the Northeast District Student Merit Award.
