Microsoft Cucina Hardware Study

Main Image:

The Microsoft Cucina Hardware Study is a concept exploration of kitchen-specific computers. This project looked at devices that are robust enough to handle the messy, harsh and chaotic kitchen environment. It also investigated devices that can break free from the conventions of traditional computer hardware and instead provide rich, warm materials that seamlessly merge with today's kitchens.

Logitech Z-5

Main Image:

With room-filling omni-directional projection, the Logitech Z-5 speaker set gives powerful voice to any laptop computer. Anchored by bands of black and metal detailing, columns of dark fabric transform into towers of sound. Chic and refined, the subtlety of its styling contrasts with the boldness of its projection.

Lapfit (SyncMaster LD190G)

Main Image:

The Lapfit is a monitor intended to be used alongside a laptop. The height, brightness and angle of the monitor can be set to the same parameters as the laptop monitor. Since the stand is attached to the back instead of the bottom of the monitor, the Lapfit sits at about the same height as the laptop monitor. And cord management is easy: the USB cable that connects the monitor to the laptop also powers the monitor.

Intel Rich Creek 2 Channel Consumer Laptop Concept

Main Image:

This mobile computer concept is based on Intel's Rich Creek 2 specifications--Intel's effort to develop interchangeable building blocks to enable smaller OEM brands to create unique laptops without the cost-prohibitive capital investment. This concept laptop shows how smaller producers can be competitive with a platform that is built on common ingredients (optical disk drives, motherboards, displays), an easy-to-service design and improved perceived value.
