WorkshopTitle:
Get Old Fast: Design for the Ages
GLEN HOUGAN

How should the design industry respond to the needs of an ageing population? As the world faces unprecedented growth and diversity in its ageing population designers must examine new ways to address ageism in our society and in their work. During this workshop we’ll explore the physical changes associated with maturing. Using an ageing suit that simulates the physical effects of maturing, participants will undertake a number of activities exploring the perceptions and realities associated with ageing. An immersive experience, the goal of this workshop is to help participants examine ageing issues and ageist attitudes to gain a better understanding of the problems and opportunities in designing and delivering products and services for our maturing population.
